ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine women's swimming & diving team took first place in 16 of a possible 16 events in Friday evening's meet with Maine Maritime Academy at Wallace Pool.
Eva Welsh guided the Black Bears with a trio of victories as she took top honors in the 50-yard breaststroke (31.53), the 100-yard breaststroke (1:08.03), and the 100-yard IM (1:01.18).
Charlotte Hoover took gold in the 200-yard IM (2:12.17) and the 50-yard backstroke (28.11) while
Kennady Hart captured wins in the 50-yard freestyle (24.17) and the 50-yard butterfly (26.62).
Haylie Calver swept the diving events posting a top score of 274.20 in the 1-meter event while earning a mark of 240.60 in the 3-meter dive.
Five other Black Bears took home individual wins on Friday:
Carmen Braden - 200-yard freestyle - 1:59.02
Madison Edwards - 100-yard backstroke - 1:00.55
Mia Poirier - 100-yard butterfly - 1:01.84
Laura Dube - 100-yard freestyle - 55.22
Nicolene Harkins - 500-yard freestyle - 5:13.23
Hart, Welsh, Poirier, and Edwards teamed up to finish first in the 200-yard medley relay with a final time of 1:51.64.

Hannah Deighan took top honors in the 200-yard freestyle relay at 1:41.49.
