Preview: Maine Readies for Road Games at #15 Boston University

Maine looks to build momentum off Saturday's win over Providence College.

ORONO, Maine - The University of Maine women's ice hockey team will travel to #15/RV Boston University for two conference games on October 18/19 at Agganis Arena.

Black Bears' Last Time Out:

  • The Black Bears opened up Hockey East conference play with Providence College, losing to the Friars in OT on Friday, and defeating them on Saturday for a weekend total of four conference points.
  • Maine currently sits in 4th place in Hockey East.
  • The OT loss came with just 2.2 seconds left on the clock Friday night, while Saturday's 3-2 win was in regulation.
  • Goaltender Julia Bachetti saw both games between the pipes, making a total of 64 saves over the weekend.
  • Goal scorers on the weekend included Alyssa Wruble, who had a goal in each contest, Stephanie Jacob (first career goal), Lila Shea (first career goal), and Courtney Colarullo who notched the game-winner on Saturday.
  • Nine assists were recorded for the Black Bears in Mira Seregély (2), Elise Morphy, Jamie Grinder (2), Mikayla Boarder, Courtney Colarullo and Sam Morrison.
  • The team killed off 9-of-9 penalties successfully, as they sit at 92.9% for the PK, and recorded one power-play goal out of seven opportunities.

  • The Black Bears won one of the three games against the Terriers last season. Scores were 3-4 Loss, 3-4 Loss and 3-1 Win.
  • Maine's record is 22-34-4 when it comes to playing Boston University.

  • Following the series with the Terriers, Maine will round out October with a trip to Hamilton, NY to face the now #7 Colgate Raiders for a pair of non-conference games.
  • After that, Maine returns home to host Vermont for Hockey East play at Alfond Arena.
