Pinette, Reinwald Named America East Player and Rookie of the Week

Orono, ME - The America East Conference announced on Monday afternoon that University of Maine second year player, Jordane Pinette and first year player, Luise Reinwald were named the America East Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively.

Pinette, a native of Thedford Mines, Quebec, Canada, scored the game-winning goal in the 3-2 victory over Vermont back on Sunday. Her second goal of the season came off of a perfect feed by Lara Kirkby that set up her shot into the lower left corner of the goal. This is her first weekly award of the season.

Reinwald, a native of Munich, Germany, earned her third Rookie of the Week award of the season following her first collegiate goal in the Black Bears conference opening victory. She scored on a corner kick that was sent in by Kristina Kelly headed into the bottom right corner of the net to tie the game at 2-2 with 2:34 remaining in the contest.

Maine travels to Albany to take on the UAlbany Great Danes on Sunday, Sep. 24 as they look to continue their undefeated start to the season. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 P.M.
