Orono, ME - The University of Maine field hockey program captured its first win of 2023 over Providence College on Sunday afternoon, 2-0.
Mallory Mackesy and Poppy Lambert each scored a goal in the winning performance for the Black Bears and Brynn Dzengelewski picked up an assist on the Mackesy goal.
Mallory Drayer (1-1) and Jayde Temby combined to shutout the Friars, each picking up a save in the contest.
Maine (1-1) continues their stretch of home games to begin the 2023 campaign as they welcome Boston University and Ohio on the weekend of Sep.1-3. Friday's contest will begin at 2 P.M. and Sunday's will begin at noon.
