Waterville, Maine -- The University of Maine women's swimming & diving team stands in first place out of eight teams with 322.50 points after day one at the Maine State Meet.
The highlight of the day came on the 3-meter boards for Maine where
Ashley LeClaire (263.35) and
Haylie Calver (255.25) took first and second, respectively, in the event.
Kennady Kilger placed third in the 50-yard butterfly at 26.09 while
Isabelle Irani came home fifth in the event with a time of 26.48.
Kayla Loughman added a third place mark, taking the bronze in the 200 IM at 2:07.96. She was followed closely by
Lindsay Mathews who placed fourth at 2:10.32.
Morgan Bui touched the wall fourth overall in the 50-yard breaststroke with a final time of 31.02 while
Rebecca Thompson took seventh in the 500 freestyle (5:11.95).
Morgan Thompson added an eighth place showing in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 27.97.
The team of Kilger,
Hannah Deighan,
Alicia Littler, and Loughman teamed up to take runner-up honors in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:36.77.
Maine's mixed 400-yard medley relay team of
Madison Edwards, Nick Partridge, Cam Watelet, and Kilger took the gold in the event with a meet and pool record time of 1:36.77.
