Orono, ME - The National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced on Wednesday morning that
Poppy Lambert of the University of Maine field hockey program was named to the NFHCA Senior Team.
Lambert, a native of Greytown, New Zealand, has become one of the most dominate players in all of the NCAA and one of the all-time point leaders in Maine history. Across her four collegiate seasons, Lambert has tallied 110 points, only the fifth Maine player to do so, scoring 50 goals and registering 10 assists across her 72 games played.
Lambert was a 2022 All-American, the 2022 America East Defensive Player of the Year, a 2022 NFHCA Northeast First Team Member, a 2021 NFHCA All-Northeast Second Team Member, a two-time America East All-Conference First Team Member, a 2023 America East Second-Team Member, a four-time America East All-Tournament Team selection, a two-time NFHCA DI National Academic Squad Member, a 2022 America East All-Academic Team Member and an America East All-Rookie Team Member.
Lambert becomes the third Black Bear in program history to earn a spot on the NFHCA Senior Team, joining Hana Davis (2020) and Cassandra Mascarenhas (2021).
