Soccer Posts Shutout at NJIT, 2-0 on Sunday Afternoon

Box Score Orono, ME – The University of Maine women's soccer team shutout the NJIT Highlanders to pick up their eighth win on the season by a final score of 2-0.
 
Victoria Dungey got the first score of the contest for the Black Bears in the 57th minute as she was set up by Julia Lossius (4) who a perfect one-time shot that she put into the right side of the net.
 
Abbey Thornton added on a second goal for the Black Bears as she corralled a blocked shot off the foot of Kayla Kraemer (4), where she took a shot that went off a defender's right leg and into the back of the net.
 
Kira Kutzinski picked up her fourth shutout of the season as she picked up three saves in the win.
 
Maine (8-0-4, 3-0-2 AE) remains undefeated in 2023 as they look to continue their historic season as they travel to UMass Lowell on Thursday, Oct. 12. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 P.M.
