PREVIEW: Binghamton Up Next for Women's Soccer

The Black Bears sit one point behind the first-place Bearcats.

ORONO, Maine – The University of Maine women's soccer team will head to Binghamton this weekend for the final regular season road contest at 12 p.m. on Sunday.

ABOUT THE BLACK BEARS
  • Maine brings an overall record of 9-1-4 and an America East mark of 4-1-1 into Sunday's battle with the Bearcats … Maine suffered its first defeat of the season at UMass Lowell on Oct. 12 but bounced back for a 2-0 win over Bryant at home on Sunday … Abby Kraemer and Julie Lossius combined for both goals, with Kraemer finishing in the first half and Lossius in the second.
  • Abby Kraemer leads the conference in points (24), points per game (1.85) and goals (10) while ranking second in shots (46) and shots per game (3.54) … Kraemer has a career-high five game-winning goals on the year and has also set career-bests in goals (10), assists (24) and points (24).
  • Kira Kutzinski is 9-1-4 on the year with five shutouts, an .803 save percentage and an 0.86 goals against average.
  • Maine is ranked #10 in the United Soccer Coaches Atlantic Region rankings for the fifth-consecutive week…the Black Bears also sit 44 spots higher than any other America East team in the RPI rankings with their spot at 116.
  • Maine opened up the season with a program record 8-0-4 unbeaten streak … the Black Bears had a 19-game regular season unbeaten streak snapped with last Thursday's 2-0 loss at UMass Lowell.
ABOUT THE BEARCATS
  • Binghamton enters the weekend at 4-0-2 in America East play and 5-4-5 overall … the Bearcats are 3-1-2 at home and have a two-game winning streak.
  • Lexi Vegoda leads the team in points (12) with four goals and four assists … Olivia McKnight has a team-high five assists to go with two goals for nine points while Lauren Clark has four goals on the year.
  • Goalkeeper Kaitlyn Williams has played nearly every minute in goal, going 5-4-5 with a 1.15 goals against average and .805 save percentage.
  • Binghamton has won its last two games, 2-0, picking up a road win at UMass Lowell on Oct. 8 and a home win against Vermont on Oct. 15.

  • Both the Black Bears and Bearcats clinched a spot in the America East Women's Soccer Tournament with victories on Sunday.
