ORONO, Maine - The University of Maine women's soccer team will return to the pitch this Thursday, September 29, when they take on the UNH Wildcats at 6:00 pm. Returning to Maine, the Black Bears will continue conference play against Albany with a noon kick-off on Sunday, October 2.

Black Bears Notes and Notables
- The flagship is looking to get back into the playoffs for the 14th time in the last 20 seasons. Maine is led by four seniors and eight graduate students.
- Maine holds a 1-0-1 record in America East with a victory over UMBC last Sunday. Birte Speck scored the game winning goal, while Saylor Clark and Halle Rogers both found the back of the net during the 3-2 victory.
- Birte Speck (Player of the Week), Madison Michaud (Rookie of the Week), and Jordane Pinette (Rookie of the Week) have all won awards over the past month.
- Sophomore Abby Kraemer led the Black Bears in points during the 2021 season with a total of 11 during her rookie campaign. Graduate student Emma Donovan and junior Delaney LaBonte each scored two goals last season.
A Bit About the Wildcats
- UNH is coming off a 6-9-4 season, which saw them fall in the America East championship game to Vermont, 1-0.
- Four of the Wildcats top five scorers - Meghan Guarente, Emily Bini, Ella Dudley, and Anna Hewlett - from 2021 return in 2022.
- Cat Sheppard returns in net after posting a 0.90 GAA and 0.825 save percentage over her 19 appearances last season.

- UAlbany is coming off a 6-8-4 season, which saw them fall in the America East semifinal game to Vermont, 3-1.
