Dedham, Mass. -- The University of Maine throwers competed at the Jay Carisella Coaches Invitational on Friday afternoon. The Black Bears captured five, top three finishes at the meet.
Mackenzie Wilson was the runner-up in the hammer throw with a second place mark of 55.05m.
Erica Magnuson turned in a pair of third place showings, taking the bronze in both the discus (40.63) and the hammer (50.49). Magnuson's mark in the hammer was good for ninth on Maine's all-time top-10 list.
Paige Boudreau was the runner-up in the shot put with a throw of 12.27, good for tenth all-time on Maine's top-10 list. Boudreau added a sixth place throw of 39.39 in the hammer and placed eighth in the discus at 32.11.
Claudia Damboise took the bronze in the shot put at 12.14 while
Elaina Panagakos finished fifth in the event with a mark of 11.79.
Rebekah Hunnewell-Dunphe finished fifth in the discus (39.98), sixth in the shot put (11.67), and eighth in the hammer throw (39.98). Hunnewell-Dunphe's mark of 39.98 in the discus moved her into ninth on Maine's all-time top-10 list in the event.
