ORONO, Maine - The University of Maine softball team and first season head coach,
Jordan Fitzpatrick, will open the home portion of the 2022 schedule on Wednesday with a doubleheader against UMass Lowell before hosting UMBC on Sunday.

The Black Bears went 0-2 in their second weekend of America East play. Albany took game one on Saturday, 5-1, before game two was suspended due to darkness. The Great Danes scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to win the weekend finale, 8-5.

Jasmine Gray is leading the way at the plate by sporting a .342 batting average. The junior is slugging .532 with 14 RBI, two home runs, and nine doubles.
Gabby Papushka and
Brianna Neely are both at the .303 mark in the box. Papushka has crushed five home runs and tallied 22 RBI during her first collegiate season, while Neely has swiped nine bags and recorded 20 total hits.

Kya Enos,
Keely Clark, and
Kelby Drews have 10 combined home runs and 54 RBI over 31 games. Enos has been a menace on the base paths. The senior is 11-15 in stolen base attempts and also has 14 runs scored.

Caitlyn Fallon and
Emily Reid lead the team with two wins apiece. They have combined to strike out 50 hitters over their 36 combined appearances.
Gabbie Siciliano's 5.29 ERA is the lowest on the team. She has won one game over 48.2 innings.
