ORONO, Maine - Senior goaltender Kira Kutzinski and senior defender Halle Rogers from the University of Maine women's soccer program have been named to 2022 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Women's Scholar All-America Teams.

This is the fifth major postseason award from both Kutzinski and Rogers.

Kutzinski, after grabbing America East first team honors, America East Goalkeeper of the Year, and a spot on the 2022 Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team, has been named to three 2022 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Women's Teams (First Team All-Atlantic, First Team Scholar All-East, and Third Team Scholar All-America) after posting a 0.75 goals against average and 0.833 save percentage over her 15 regular season appearances. The senior goalkeeper posted seven shut-outs and allowed only 12 total goals over her eight wins and five ties. For the week of October 17, Kutzinski was named AE defensive player of the week.
 
Rogers was named to the league's first team, earned the league's Defensive Player of the Year honors, and snagged a spot on the 2022 Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team. The defender garnered a spot on three 2022 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Women's Teams (First Team All-Atlantic, First Team Scholar All-East, and Second Team Scholar All-America) after anchoring a defense that allowed only 12 goals over 15 total games. The senior defender recorded two goals and one assist over her 1,307 minutes of game play. For the week of October 3, Rogers was named AE defensive player of the week.

On October 30, 2022, the Black Bears hosted and won their first America East playoff game since 2015.
