- The Black Bears enter play 10-5 all-time against UAlbany. Maine has won each of the last seven meetings, including a 19-16 victory over the Great Danes last fall in Albany. In the latest meeting, Maine limited UAlbany to just three points in the first half and registering 10.0 tackles for loss and three sacks. Maine is 6-1 on the road in the series and has won six in a row at Casey Stadium. Maine's last loss at UAlbany came in 2009. Maine has won nine of the last 11 meetings. The first contest between the two teams came in 1977, a 42-39 victory by the Great Danes in Orono. This meeting marks the 14th consecutive season in which the two teams have faced off. Maine is 9-4 over that stretch against the Great Danes.
- The Black Bears are currently caught in a three game losing skid after dropping a 26-22 decision at No. 23 Rhode Island last Saturday. Maine's last three losses have come by a combined 15 points in total. The loss napped Maine's 14 game win streak against the Rams. In the contest, Elijah Barnwell rushed for a season-high 98 yards and a touchdown, surpassing 1,000 rush yards for his career. Maine controlled the ball for 35:26 while going 7-of-16 on third down and finished 3-for-3 in the red zone.
- UAlbany, playing its final home game of the season, enters play 1-4 in its last five after most recently suffering a 27-3 loss at No. 19 Elon. UAlbany's last victory came on Oct. 29, a 59-14 home win over Stony Brook. The Great Danes are 2-2 on their home turf and feature the CAA's second ranked passing attack (278.3 ypg) and fourth best scoring offense (31.3 ppg). Defensively, UAlbany has struggled as it ranks 12th in the CAA in points allowed (35.4 ppg), 11th in total defense (404.7 ypg allowed) and last in third down conversion defense as it allows opponents to convert 48.6 percent of the time.
- Over its last four outings, Maine has produced a +5 turnover margin as the Black Bears have not turned the ball over in four consecutive outings. The Black Bears have been extremely efficient when reaching the red zone, ranking tops in the CAA and second in the country at 95.7%. Maine has scored on 17 straight trips inside the red zone. Maine has produced 18 sacks on the season, six more than it did in all of the 2021 fall season.
