Black Bears wrap up regular season with victory at Bryant

Pinette tallies first career goal in win

Smithfield, R.I. -- Jordane Pinette's goal in the 29th minute proved to be the difference as the University of Maine women's soccer team wrapped up the regular season with a 1-0 victory at Bryant on Sunday afternoon. With the win, Maine completes America East play undefeated at 4-0-4 and finish the regular season 8-2-5 overall.

Maine, which had previously clinched a spot in the America East postseason, will learn its postseason match-up and game date and information following the conclusion of the regular season for the rest of the league on Thursday evening.

The Black Bears dominated play, holding a 21-2 edge in total shots in the contest.

Pinette's goal in the first half came on a perfect centering pass from the right wing by Julie Lossius. Lossius' cross found the head of Pinette on the left post who was able to redirect the pass into the net.

Maine keeper Kira Kutzinski made one save and earned her seventh shutout of the season, tying her for the league lead in shutouts with the UMBC keeper.
