  • Maine is coming off its second consecutive victory after knocking off Monmouth 38-28 on Homecoming Weekend in Orono. Maine turned three takeaways into three touchdowns, including a 39-yard pick-six from Buggs Brown, in the victory. Defensively, Maine limited Monmouth's top ranked rush offense to 112 yards on the ground while Shawn Bowman, Freddie Brock, Elijah Barnwell, and Montigo Moss all found the end zone. Moss has now recorded a touchdown in four of his last five outings.
  • Stony Brook enters play riding a six game losing skid after dropping a 45-14 decision at Fordham last weekend. The Seawolves, 0-4 in the CAA and 0-2 at home, have struggled on offense as they enter ranked last in the CAA and 118th out of 123 teams at the FCS level at 10.3 points per game. Defensively, Stony Brook is 12th in the CAA allowing 33.7 points. Stony Brook also checks in last among CAA teams in passing defense, allowing 264.5 yards through the air.

The Black Bears have been extremely efficient when reaching the red zone, ranking tops in the CAA and fifth in the country at 93.3%. Maine has scored on nine straight trips inside the red zone. Maine has already surpassed its sack total (12.0) from a year ago and are coming off a season-high five sack performance to go along with a season-high matching three takeaways. Maine has registered six takeaways in its last two outings.
