Orono, Maine -- University of Maine junior
Khairi Manns has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Co-Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday, Oct. 17.
Manns spearheaded Maine's defensive attack in its 38-28 win over Momouth on Homecoming Weekend in Orono. The defensive lineman registered a career-high 11 tackles, 2.0 TFLs, 1.5 sacks, and forced a fumble which eventually led to a Maine touchdown. Manns guided Maine in limiting Monmouth's league-leading rushing attack to its second lowest rushing total of the season (112) while holding the FCS leading individual rusher entering the game to just 81 yards on the ground.
Manns and the Black Bears carry their two-game win streak into Stony Brook for a clash with the Seawolves on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
