Orono, Maine – University of Maine Athletics and its multimedia rights partner, Black Bear Sports Properties, has announced that it will televise seven of Maine's home men's ice hockey games. These select games will air live on WVII ABC 7 or WFVX FOX 22 Bangor and Maine's CW - WPXT Portland. The games will re-air on tape delay the following Monday on FOX 22 at 12:30 p.m.
The first local linear broadcast will take place on Friday, Oct. 22 when the Black Bears officially open their home game schedule against Sacred Heart at 7:30 p.m. live on ABC 7. All seven of Maine's televised games will begin at 7:30 p.m.
"I am very proud to be broadcasting our local Men's Ice Hockey team," Vice President and General Manager of WVII/WFVX, Mike Palmer says. "Local broadcasting is in the fabric of what we do and there isn't anything more satisfying than working with our friends in Orono."
