ORONO - The America East announced their weekly award winners on Tuesday afternoon, with junior
Chloe Walton taking home the first Offensive Player of the Week honor of her career after scoring three goals over the weekend.
The team's leading offensive scorer from the 2019 season, Walton found her offensive stride this weekend with three goals on nine shots. She notched the first goal of the weekend in Maine's 2-0 win over Vermont on Friday, and scored twice in the 4-2 victory over UNH on Sunday. The North Vancouver-native now has the second-most goals in the conference (4) and sits in fifth in points (8).
This is the first Offensive Player of the Week award for Maine since Casey Crowley in October of 2018. Maine has now picked up Rookie of the Week and Offensive Player of the Week honors this year, and would become the first team to win all three in a season in program history if they get a Defensive Player of the Week award this year.
The Black Bears are back to work this weekend at Monmouth, an 11:30 start on Friday.
