WATERVILLE, ME - The Maine State Meet concluded it's two days of events that found the Black Bears taking fourth on both the women's and men's side for the University of Maine swim and dive teams.
On the women's side, they were led by top performances from:
Kayla Loughman - 5th in the 200 freestyle team relay, 4th in the 50 breaststroke (30.77), 6th in the 200 medley team relay, 2nd in the 200 breaststroke (2:28.03), 4th in the 400 freestyle team relay
Sarah Mansfield - 5th in the 200 freestyle team relay, 6th in the 50 backstroke (29.55)Â 6th in the 200 medley team relay
Maggie White - 6th in the 1650 freestyle (18:13.54)
Marlee Canale - 2nd in the 200 butterfly (2:15.70)
PhilAnn Dixon - 2nd in the 1-meter dive (240.25), 3rd in the 3-meter dive (239.35)
On the men's side, they were led by top performances from:
Liam Blair - 9th in the 200 backstroke (2:00.91), 11th in the 400 freestyle team relay
Dan Tanaka - 8th in the 200 breaststroke (2:20.29)
Nicholas Plese - 9th in the 200 breaststroke (2:23.46)
Riley Clark - 2nd in both the 1-meter dive (213.80) and the 3-meter dive (191.30)
The mixed medley 400 relay team of
Madison Edwards,
Morgan Bui,
Cam Watelet and
Finn Devers took 7th in the event.
For the women, they finished the meet with a 4th place team finish, scoring 555.5 points. On the men's side, they also took 4th place at the event, scoring a 277 team score.
For both teams, their next meet will come in the new year as they will face off against Bowdoin on Saturday, Jan. 15.
