Box Score ORONO, ME - The University of Maine women's ice hockey team played host to Colby College in an exhibition matchup in which the Black Bears came away with the victory, 4-1.
FIRST GOAL (1-0 Colby): Klara Jandusikova found herself open near the blue line and fired home a slap shot that gave the Mules a 1-0 lead. Lexi Cafiero got the assist.
SECOND GOAL (1-1): Ally Johnson powered home a rebound off of the Colby College goalkeeper, Nina Prunster, to get the score back to a 1-1 contest.
Ida Press and Jennifer Costa picked up the assists on the power play strike.
THIRD GOAL (2-1 Maine): Jennifer Costa followed up the assist with a goal of her own, this time with
Ally Johnson supplying her with the assist directly off of a face off.
FOURTH GOAL (3-1 Maine): Morgan Trimper continued the Maine attack as she fired home the third of the game for the Black Bears.
Alyssa Wruble and
Rahel Enzler picked up the assists.
FIFTH GOAL (4-1 Maine): Ida Kuoppala iced the game as she took the pass in from
Maddie Giordano and depositied the puck into the top corner of the net.
Elise Morphy also got an assist on the score.
Jorden Mattison picked up the victory with a 18 save on 19 shot performance.
For the Black Bears, the exhbition is in preparation for a weekend series against the Huskies of UConn that will take place on Friday, Nov. 12 and Saturday, Nov. 13.
