ORONO, Maine - The University of Maine women's ice hockey team heads to Brooklyn, N.Y. for a weekend pair of games against the LIU Sharks in Friday, Oct. 8 and Saturday, Oct. 9.
For the Black Bears, they are off to a slow start for the 2021-22 season. Having dropped the first 3 games of the season, 3-2, 5-1 and 3-2, they will be looking for their first win of the new season.
Most recently, UMaine took a loss in their home opener, a 3-2 defeat to the Saint Anselm Hawks.
Ida Kuoppala and
Ally Johnson netted the pair of goals for the Black Bears in the contest.
Loryn Porter also picked up 16 saves in the contest.
For the Sharks, they are off to an 0-4 start. Most recently, they took 4-0 and a 9-1 losses at Quinnipiac. Carrigan Umpherville scored the lone goal in the two games for LIU.
The two games are scheduled for a 3:15 P.M. puck drop on Friday and a 2:00 P.M. puck drop on Saturday.
