Box Score NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The University of Maine women's ice hockey team was defeated by the Warriors of Merrimack College on Saturday evening, 2-0.
FIRST GOAL (1-0 Warriors): During a clearing attempt by the Black Bears, Teghan Inglis intercepted the chance and fired home the first score of the game into the top corner of the net. It was her fourth score of the season.
SECOND GOAL (2-0 Warriors): Katie Kaufman fights off a Maine defender behind the Black Bears net and comes away with the puck. She turned and fired and beat Porter to score the second goal for the Warriors. For Kaufman, her short-handed goal was her sixth goal of the season.
For Merrimack's goaltender, Emma Gorski, she wraps up a double shutout weekend with her 21 save performance against the Black Bears.
Loryn Porter stopped 20 of 22 shots faced in the contest.
For Maine (3-8-0, 1-5-0), they have the next weekend off. They will be back in action on Friday, Nov. 12 and Saturday, Nov. 13 as they have their rematch against the Huskies of UConn.
