Box Score LOWELL, MA – The University of Maine women's soccer team were defeated in their final matchup of the season against the UMass Lowell Riverhawks, 3-1.
First Goal (1-0 UMass): Anna Edson found herself with a good scoring chance in front of Black Bears Goalkeeper,
Kira Kutzinski, coming off of the feed by Calliste Brookshire. She found the back of the net to give the Riverhawks the 1-0 lead at 18:52.
Second Goal (1-1): Abby Kraemer nets her fifth of the season to tie the contest at 73:53. Kraemer was set up by a great pass by
Saylor Clark. Clark saved the ball from going out of bounds on the end line and laid it right in front of the net for Kraemer to finish.
Third Goal (2-1 UMass): Ioanna Papatheodorou fired a strong shot that appeared to be saved by Kutzinski by the momentum from the shot carried it into the back of the net as the Riverhawks netted the game-winning goal. Chaima Krammar got the assist.
Fourth Goal (3-1 UMass): Emily Nelson went one on one with the Black Bear defender, making her way by and netted a rolling ball into the bottom corner of the net. Anna Edson picked up the assist.
For UMaine, they end their 2021 season with a 3-7-4 record and 1-6-2 in conference.
Kira Kutzinski picked up 2 saves in the losing effort.
