Outgoing Black Bears Named to America East Women's Basketball All-Championship Team

Barra, Bolozova, Lefft, McVicar, Tapley and Williams honored

ORONO, Maine -- After the cancelation of the 2020 America East Championship game due to the focus on public health and the effort to help contain the spread of COVID-19, the league announced it has selected outgoing players on both Stony Brook and Maine as honorees to the 2020 America East Women's Basketball All-Championship Team.

Representing the All-Championship Team from UMaine were seniors Alex Bolozova, Gaddy Lefft, Maddy McVicar and Sierra Tapley and juniors Kira Barra and Kat Williams, both of which will be graduating early.

The Black Bears, who earned the No. 2 seed in the America East Tournament, had advanced to their fifth-straight America East title game and were in-search of their third consecutive league championship. Maine's season came to an end after the Black Bears had put together a 10-game win streak and extended their postseason win streak to eight in a row.
