WORCESTER, Mass. --
Kazu Temple set a new school-record with a runner-up finish in the 100-yard breaststroke while assisting in leading Maine's 400-yard medley relay team to a new school mark on day three at the America East Swimming & Diving Championships.
Following day three of competition, the Black Bears stand in third place with 388 points.
Temple set a blistering pace in the 100-yard breaststroke final, touching the wall second with a school-record time of 56.12. Temple, along with
Liam Blair,
Andy Sprague and
Kevin Arpin took second place overall in the 400-yard medley relay event, finishing with a new school-record time of 3:21.09.
Individually, Sprague (49.92) and
Cameron Kubik (51.17) took home fourth and eighth place honors, respectively, in the 100-yard butterfly. Blair added a fifth place finish in the 100-yard backstroke with a final time of 50.81 while Arpin touched the wall seventh in the 200-yard freestyle final at 1:43.80.
Ben Sturgis and
Riley Clark placed seventh and eighth, respectively, in the 1-meter dive event. Sturgis completed competition with 192.25 points while Clark finished at 176.70.
