WORCESTER, Mass. -- The University of Maine men's swimming & diving team placed third at the 2020 America East Championships with 575 total points.
The Black Bears broke a pair of school records on the fourth and final day of competition.
Kazu Temple broke his second individual record of the weekend, setting a new mark of 2:02.76 with a third place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke. The team of
Andy Sprague,
Liam Blair,
Jacob Ketch and
Kevin Arpin partnered to set a new UMaine record with a time of 3:02.94 in the 400-yard freestyle relay. The final time was good for a runner-up showing in the event.
Blair added a fourth place finish in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:52.73 while Sprague finished fourth in the 100-yard freestyle at 45.33.
Rooster Cardin and
Thomas LaFrance finished sixth and eighth with time of 1:55.04 and 1:56.63, respectively.
LaFrance added a fifth place finish in the mile at 16:13.40 while
Conor Hughes placed eighth in the event with a time of 16:42.38.
