WORCESTER, Mass. -- The University of Maine men's 200-yard medley relay team set a new school-record on day one of the 2020 America East Swimming & Diving Championships.
The 200-yard medley team of
Liam Blair,
Kazu Temple,
Cameron Kubik and
Andy Sprague placed third in the event with a new school-record time of 1:31.87.
Ben Strugis and
Riley Clark finished seventh and eighth, respectively, with scores of 183.30 and 172.40 on the 3-meter board on opening night.
Maine's 800-yard freestyle relay team, made up of Thomas Lafrance,
Kevin Kane,
Rooster Cardin and
Kevin Arpin, placed third with a time of 6:53.74.
After one day of competition, the Black Bears set third with 87 points.
Maine returns to the pool on Friday with preliminary action beginning at 10 a.m. followed by diving at 4 p.m. and day two finals at 5:30 p.m.
