LEWISTON, Maine -- The University of Maine men's track and field team defeated Bryant, 102-61, in a meet held at Bates College on Saturday afternoon. The Black Bears were able to capture 13 individual wins against the Bulldogs.
Bates, Keene State, Husson, St. Joseph (ME) and Franklin Pierce also competed in the meet with their scoring separate by rule.
- Camden Cleathero and Ben Cotton both posted qualifying marks in the 60m dash. The duo took first and second place, respectively, in the event with times of 7.12 and 7.29.
- Cleathero added a victory in the high jump with a leap of 6-04.75.
- Andrew Clement took home first place in both the 200m dash, with a time of 23.56, and the 400m (52.84).
- Ben Cotton placed third in the 200m event at 23.90.
- James Olivier edged out Bryant's Jason Dolan by .07 to win the 800m run with a final time of 1:55.05.
- Ethan Orach (2:36.10) and Michael Croft (2:52.03) placed first and second, respectively, in the 1000m run.
- Aaron Willingham won the 1 mile run (4:17.14) and the 3000m run (8:51.76) on a dominant distance afternoon for the Black Bears.
- Colton Santoro (8.97) and Kristian Baird (9.01) were one and two in the 60m hurdle event.
- The team of Andrew Clement, Branden Kuusela, Michael O'Clair and Michael Croft were the runners-up in the 4x400m relay (3:32.52).
- Sam Bonnevie won the pole vault competition, clearing 13-11.25. He was followed by William Green who cleared 12-11.50 for second place.
- Elijah White swept the jump events. White won the long jump with a leap of 22-02.25 and took home top honors in the triple jump at 45-00.50.
- Dylan Smith was the runner-up in the long jump (21-06.00) with Zachary Westman finishing second in the triple with a final mark of 42-07.00.
- Sebastian Osborn won the shot put with a throw of 45-04.50 and placed third in the weight throw with a toss of 35-00.25.
The Black Bears return to action on Jan. 25 when they compete at the Terrier Classic before traveling to take on New Hampshire on Jan. 26.
