Orono, Maine -- Two members of the University of Maine Outdoor Track and Field program were named to the America East Outdoor Track All Academic team.

Thomas McCormack and Ruby Krasnow were the two Black Bears named to the All Academic Team. This is the second time this academic year McCormack has been named to the America East All Academic team McCormack, a junior from Brunswick, Maine, is a Finance & Political Science major finishing with a semester GPA of 3.96. McCormack was named the Elite 18 Award recipient at the America East Outdoor Track and Field Championships back in May. Competitively, McCormack averaged 4.32m per Pole Vault attempt which included a 1st place finishes in the University of Maine Spring Opener, the Jim Kavanagh Legacy Invitational and a 7th place finish at the America East Championships.

Ruby Krasnow was named to the America East All Academic Team for the second time during the Track and Field season. Krasnow was named to America East All Academic team for the Cross Country season this past Cross Country campaign along with being named to the Indoor Track and Field All Academic team. Krasnow, a graduate student from Huntsville, Alabama, is continuing her work towards her PhD in Marine Biology with a 4.0 GPA in both undergraduate and graduate schools. Krasnow was named the Elite 18 Award recipient at both the Cross Country and Indoor Track Championships this season. Competitively, Krasnow competed in the NCAA East Regionals in both the 5,000m and the 10,000m events, capturing a 24th place finish in the 10k while finishing 37th in the 5k.

The Black Bears return to action in the fall when the Cross Country season gets underway.
