Casey Crowley was featured on SportCenter's Top 10 plays on Friday night, checking in at No. 10 for her elusive goal in the second half against Northeastern.
Crowley received a pass from
Cassandra Mascarenhas, maneuvering past four defenders on her way to firing a shot past the Husky goalkeeper in the play.
Crowley, a native of New Plymouth New Zealand, tallied two goals in an eight minute span against the Huskies in the second half, with her second goal earning the recognition from the World Wide Leader in Sports. In her last four games, Crowley has tallied five goals and an assist for 11 points in that span.
The Black Bears defeated Northeastern 9-1 on Friday, improving to 8-0 on the season. Maine's overall record matches the Black Bears' best-ever start to a season, which was set in 1975.
Maine returns home to take on No. 20 Harvard on Sunday, Sept. 23 at 1 p.m as Maine looks to improve to 3-0 on the season against ranked teams. UMaine students that attend the game against Harvard can pick up a Black Bear blanket by showing their student ID at the marketing table in front of the bleachers.
