Orono, Maine -- University of Maine senior defensive lineman Pat Ricard has been named to the STATS FCS Preseason All-America Third Team, as announced on Monday, August 1.

The accolade comes a week after Ricard received All-Colonial Athletic Association Preseason All-Conference honors.

The preseason squad is 99 players deep spread across three all-conferenceteams. All 13 conferences and 63 schools had selections. The CAA was one of only three conferences to reach double-digit honors (13).

Richard led the league a year ago with 16.5 tackles for loss. During the 2015 campaign, Ricard racked up 7.0 sacks, sixth best in the CAA, ranked second with three forced fumbles, and finished his junior season with 53 total tackles.
