Women's Hockey Set to Host BU for a Weekend Series

The Black Bears host the Terriers for the first 2 of their 3 games this year.

ORONO, Maine - The Black Bears, after traveling to Northeastern last weekend for a 1-game weekend, return home this weekend to face Boston University in two afternoon games this Friday and Saturday.

The Black Bears carry a 1-6-0 conference record into the contest on a 3 game skid as they face The Terriers with a 3-4-0 conference record; they most recently beat Boston College 5-3 at home last weekend.

The Terriers have an overall 4-4-1 record this season after entering the season ranked in the top 10. They are a lot older of a team than The Black Bears, having 8 seniors and several Juniors on the roster this season. The Terriers are led by Senior Forward Mary Parker who has 7 goals and assists for a team-high 14 points. Also with 7 goals is Senior Forward Samantha Sutherland, adding 3 assists for a point total of 10; Also with 7 assists is Junior Forward Victoria Bach who adds 5 goals for 12 points total. Also contributing for the Terriers this season has been Sophomore Forward Sammy Davis, who has 3 goals and 8 assists for 11 points; she and Junior Forward Rebecca Leslie lead the team in assists with 8.

In net, the Terriers have seen split time in net between Junior Erin O'Neil and Senior Victoria Hanson. O'Neil has started 5 games with a 2-2-1 record, .904 save%, and 3.18 goals per game, where Hanson has started 4 games with a 2-2-0 record, .920 save%, and 2.77 goals per game.

After upsetting Boston College last month, the Black Bears have since lost 3 games in a row by a 1-goal margin, 3-2 to Providence, Vermont, and most recently at Northeastern last weekend; they look to bounce back and try to capture their second conference win on the season. The Black Bears are led by Freshman Forward Tereza Vanišová, who has 4 goals and 5 assists (a team-high) to lead the team with 9 points. Senior Forward Morgan Sakundiak also has 4 goals and and two assists on the season for 6 points. Freshman Forward Vendula Pribylová has also chipped in with 5 points on a game-winning goal against BC, and 4 assists for 5 points, and Junior Forward Brooke Stacey has chipped in with her own 5 points on 3 goals and 2 assists this season.

The Black Bears have looked to Freshman Carly Jackson in net this season as she's started 8 of Maine's 11 games so far. She has stopped 256 shots for a .908 save percentage and allows 2.86 goals per game. She has a 1-8-0 record on the season.

Both games will be at Alfond Arena, Friday and Saturday November 11th and 12th at 2pm.
