Box Score ALBANY, N.Y. -- The University of Maine women's soccer team dropped its season finale by a score of 1-0 at UAlbany on Sunday afternoon. Maine finishes the year 9-7-1 overall and 4-3-1 in America East action.
The Black Bears will be the #4 seed in the America East postseason tournament and will host New Hampshire on Thursday at 7 p.m.
The lone goal of the afternoon came at 39:03 when Caitlyn Paltsios' corner kick curved into the net off Maine goalkeeper Claudia Dube-Trempe.
The Black Bears had an opportunity early in the second half when Vivien Beil sent a shot on net but UAlbany keeper Alana Olivieri was able to come up with the save. Charlene Achille had another chance for Maine but her shot was also saved by Olivieri. However, the save led to a corner kick for the Black Bears but they were unable to capitalize.
UAlbany held a 13-9 edge in total shots and a 7-4 advantage on corner kick attempts.
Dube-Trempe made four saves for the Black Bears as her record slips to 9-6-1. Olivieri improves to 3-1-0 in net after making two saves in the shutout.
