Halkes wins third straight Goalkeeper and Rookie of the Week
ORONO, Maine -- Annabel Halkes of the University of Maine field hockey program was named the America East Goalkeeper and Rookie of the Week as announced Tuesday morning, the conference announced.
Halkes captured her third shutout of the season on Sunday making seven saves in a 1-0 win over Dartmouth. Halkes improves to 4-2 on the season, lowering her goals against average to 1.69 and increased her save percentage to .815.
This is Halkes' third straight Goalkeeper and Rookie of the Week awards.
Halkes and the Black Bears are in action this weekend as the hit the road for a non-conference matchup on Friday against American University and on Sunday against Towson.
