Worcester, Massachusetts – The University of Maine track and field program competed in the Jim Kavanagh Legacy Invitational hosted by Holy Cross on Saturday April 18
th. The Black Bears finished in 2
nd place with a total of 175 points.

Ben Therriault was the only Maine athlete to compete in the 110m Hurdles, finishing 7
th overall with a time of 15.66.
Ryan Fernstrom was the only Maine athlete to compete in the 400m Hurdles, winning the event with a time of 54.96.
Owen Transue was the only Maine athlete to compete in the 2000m Steeplechase, finishing 3
rd overall with a time of 6:20.71.
Ben Therriault was the only Maine athlete to compete in the High Jump, finishing 6
th overall with a height of 1.82m (5' 11.5").
In the Pole Vault,
Thomas McCormack won the event with a height of 4.41m (14' 5.5"),
Evan Russon finished 3
rd overall with a height of 3.81m (12' 6") and
Luke Patterson finished 4
th overall with a height of 3.66m (12').
In the Long Jump,
Conor Morin finished 2
nd overall with a distance of 7.01m (23'),
Will Rush finished 4

In the Triple Jump,
Conor Morin would win the event with a distance of 14.62m (47' 11.75") and

Ryker Brown was the only Maine athlete to compete in the Shot Put, winning the event with a distance of 17.56m (57' 7.5").
In the Discus,
Ben Therriault finished 9
th overall with a distance of 29.46m (96' 8") and
Luke Patterson finished 10
thoverall with a distance of 28.52m (93' 7").
In the Hammer Throw,
Gavin McGarrity would win the event with a distance of 62.00m (203' 5") and
Ryker Brown finished 2
nd overall with a distance of 56.76m (186' 3").
Luke Patterson was the only Maine athlete to compete in the Javelin, finishing 3
rd overall with a distance of 44.78m (146' 11").
The Black Bears are back in action starting on Thursday April 23rd as they travel to Philadelphia to take on the Penn Relays.
