Providence, RI -- The University of Maine Track and Field program competed in the Friar Invitational hosted by Providence College on Friday April 10.
In the open portion of the 800m,
Matt Firlings finished as Maine's top overall finisher and 12th place overall with a time of 1:54.37.
Aran Johnson finished 18th overall with a time of 1:55.00 and
Jacob Robinson-Smey finished 32nd overall with a time of 1:58.47. While in the Invitational portion of the event,
Kaleb Colson finished 13th overall with a time of 2:02.80.
In the open portion of the mile, Dan Knight finished 20th overall with a time of 4:17.40,
Eli Palmer finished 25th overall with a time of 4:18.66 and
Carter Libby finished 36th overall with a time of 4:24.89.
Tim Collins was the only Black Bear to compete in the 3000m Invitational, finishing 15th overall with a time of 9:04.37.
In the open portion of the 5000m,
Ethan Keller finished as Maine's top overall finisher and 5th place overall with a time of 14:50.55.
Logan Ross finished 13th overall with a time of 15:06.52 and
Jared Fortenberry finished 21st overall with a time of 15:19.67. While in the Invitational portion of the event,
Harry Grenier finished 14th overall with a time of 14:42.12,
Connor Daigle finished 15th overall with a time of 14:44.22 and
Adam Bendetson finished 18th overall with a time of 14:51.21.
In the 3000m Steeplechase, Charlie Collins finished 3rd overall with a time of 8:57.61,
Jack Burns finished 13th overall with a time of 9:31.36 and
Kyle McClellan finished 17th overall with a time of 9:45.24.
The Black Bears return to action starting Friday April 17th as they take on the Sean Collier Invitational and the Jim Kavanagh Legacy Invitational.
