POCATELLO, Idaho – The University of Maine softball team fell to Idaho State on the final day of the Orange and Black Classic.

The Black Bears will return to action on Wednesday with a doubleheader at Merrimack.

How it Happened

• The Black Bears held the Tigers scoreless in the first frame … in the top of the second, Madison Hand reached on a single up the middle and advanced to second but was eventually stranded.
• Idaho State then pushed across six runs in the home half of the second and another five runs in the bottom of the third.
• Kennedy Burns reached to start off the fifth frame and was joined on base by Neve Adams but both were stranded.

Game Notes

• Alysen Rieth started in the circle, throwing 2.1 innings, while Kyla Brogan threw 1.2 innings of relief.
• Madison Hand was 1-for-2 with a single.
