Dayton, Ohio – The University of Maine baseball program fell in the series opener at Dayton on Friday afternoon.

Scoring Plays:
Hunter St. Denis got the Black Bears on the board in the first frame as he hit his second home run of the season, a solo shot to left field.
St. Denis hit his second solo home run of the day in the sixth inning, giving him his third of the season.
Troy Carpenter made it back-to-back solo home runs in the sixth inning as he hit his fifth of the season, tying
Juju Stevens for the team lead and America East lead.
Quinn Murphy capped off the scoring for Maine with his first home run of the season, a two-run home run to right field that scored
Shane Andrus (BB).
Pitching Breakdown:
Gianni Gambardella (1-3) went three innings in the start, allowing seven runs on six hits, one walk and striking out two.
Pierce Friedman was first out of the bullpen as he allowed four runs on three hits, five walks and three strikeouts across two innings of work.
Thomas Stabley wrapped up the game as he threw the final three innings, allowing just one run on two hits, no walks and striking out four.
