ORONO, Maine – Defenseman Brandon Chabrier of the University of Maine men's ice hockey team has signed a professional contract with the East Coast Hockey League's (ECHL) Maine Mariners, the organization announced on Tuesday evening.
 
The Mariners are the ECHL affiliate of the Boston Bruins (NHL) and Providence Bruins (AHL).
 
Chabrier, a senior, skated in 133 games over his four seasons in Maine. He finished his Maine career with 49 points on seven goals and 42 assists and a plus-26 rating. Chabrier recorded a career-high 38 blocked shots this season and finished his collegiate career with 115.
 
The Bayville, N.Y. native was a two-time Hockey East Defender of the Month and four-time Hockey East Defender of the Week in his Black Bear career.
