Albany, N.Y. – The University of Maine basketball team took down UAlbany on Thursday night, 70-59.

Maine opened up an early lead as they scored 14 of the first 19 points in the game, led by
Ace Flagg with six points on a pair of three pointers.

The Black Bears continued their early surge as they connected on nine of their first 10 shots from the field to build out a double-digit lead with 11 minutes to play in the first half.

After getting the lead cut down to four, the Black Bears responded with an 8-0 run to reestablish a double-digit lead with just under five minutes to go in the half at 32-20.

Maine took six-point advantage into the break at 37-31.

Flagg led the way as he had 11 points on a perfect 3-for-3 from behind-the-arc and two-for-two from the free throw line.

Ryan Mabrey (8),
TJ Biel (7) and
Mekhi Gray (6) rounded out the top scorers for the Black Bears in the half.

The Black Bears retook their double-digit point lead in the second half as they built it back up with a little over 11 minutes to go in the half.

Maine was able to come away with the victory, 70-59.

Notes:
- The Black Bears never trailed on the night.
- Flagg set a new career-high in points with 22 points on eight-for-nine shooting from the floor.
- Mabrey (14) and Biel (11) rounded out the top three scorers on the night for Maine.
- Maine scored 18 points off of turnovers as they forced 16 turnovers.
