Binghamton, N.Y. – The University of Maine basketball team was defeated by Binghamton on Saturday afternoon, 74-67.

Binghamton jumped in front early they got their lead up to eight points midway through the first half.

The Bearcats were able to maintain their lead heading into the break as the score stood at 34-27.

Mekhi Gray had 12 points on five-for-eight shooting from the field and a pair of three-pointers.

Keelan Steele had eight points.
Â
Maine forced seven turnovers in the first half.
Â
After falling by behind as much as 15 points with a little over eight minutes to go in the second half, the Black Bears went on a 14-0 run to make it a one-point game with three minutes to go.

Maine was unable to complete the comeback, falling to the Bearcats, 74-67.

Notes:
- The Black Bears will be on the road for the America East Playoffs following the results from around the league.
- Gray had 19 points while Ryan Mabrey (12), Ace Flagg (12) and Steele (10) all reached double-digits in scoring.

The Black Bears (8-22) conclude the regular season on Tuesday, March 3 as they host UMass Lowell. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 PM.
