DELAND, Fla. – North Dakota State and Stetson topped the University of Maine softball team on Saturday on the second day of the Hatter Classic at Patricia Wilson Field.

The Black Bears will close out the Hatter Classic tomorrow with a 10 a.m. game against Stetson.

How it Happened
- North Dakota State took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second, using a double, walk and single to load the bases for an RBI walk.
- In the third, the Bison picked up an RBI single … an inning later, NDSU pushed a run across on a hit by pitch and then added another with an RBI single for a 4-0 lead.
- Maine finally got on the board in the bottom of the fourth … Annika Shearer reached on a walk, stole second and then came home on a Keira Inman single through the left side.
- NDSU responded with another two-run frame for a 6-1 score.

How it Happened
- Maine took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first … Francesca Guerrera singled to center and then Eviana Robles knocked an RBI double to right center.
- In the top of the second, Neve Adams sent her first career home run over the centerfield fence for a three-run shot and a 4-0 lead.
- The Hatters got on the board with a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the third … Stetson tied the game up in the bottom of the fifth with a three-run home run.
- Stetson put the game away in the bottom of the sixth with an eight-run frame.
