Boston, Massachusetts - The Maine men's track and field program competed at the Harvard Invitational on Friday January 30 and the Terrier Classic on Saturday January 31.
Harvard Invitational Results:
Tim Collins finished 36th overall in the mile with a time of 9:16.05 and
Ben Arsenault finished 18th in the 3000m event with a time of 9:01.34.
Terrier Classic Results:
In the open portion of the 60m Dash, freshman
Max Shapiro captured Maine's lone 1st place finish on the day finishing with a time of 6.98.
AJ Sebastien finished 3rd in the event with a time of 7.04. While in the invite portion of the event,
Cole Martin finished 2nd with a time of 6.87.
In the open portion of the 200m Dash,
AJ Sebastien finished 14th overall with a time of 22.04 and
Cole Martin finished 17th overall with a time of 22.09.
In the invite portion of the 400m,
Miles Gay finished 12th overall with a time of 48.26 and
Andrew Card finished just one hundredth of a second behind Gay with a time of 48.27. In the open portion of the event,
Ryan Fernstrom finished 46th overall with a time of 50.27 and
Spencer Stadnicki finished 96th overall with a time of 52.09.
In the 800m open,
Matt Firlings finished 39th overall with a time of 1:55.07 and
Jacob Robinson-Smey finished 65th overall with a time of 1:56.67.
In the open portion of the Mile, Charlie Collins finished 52nd overall with a time of 4:08.99 and Dan Knight finished 73rd overall with a time of 4:12.15.
In the 3000m open,
Connor Daigle finished 108th overall with a time of 8:30.98 and
Harry Grenier finished 112th overall with a time of 8:31.70.
In the 5000m open,
Adam Bendetson finished 53rd overall with a time of 14:42.02. Bendetson was the only Black Bear to compete in the event.
Miles Gay,
Nolan Feyler,
Andrew Card and
Ryan Fernstrom teamed up in the 4x400 relay to finish 6th overall with a time of 3:15.33.
Thomas McCormack finished 5th in the pole vault event with a height of 4.6m (15' 1").
Ben Therriault finished 13th overall with a height of 3.85m (12' 7.5").
The Black Bears captured two top 10 finishes in the Long Jump, Triple Jump and the Weight Throw events. In long jump,
Andrew Abelon finished 4th with a distance of 6.85m (22' 5.75") and
Conor Morin finished 8th with a distance of 6.67m (21' 10.75"). In the triple jump,
Conor Morin finished 3rd with a distance of 14.83m (48' 8") and
Will Rush finished 6th with a distance of 14.46m (47' 5.25"). In the weight throw,
Ryker Brown finished 3rd with a distance of 18.75m (61' 6.25") and
Gavin McGarrity finished 16.94m (55' 7").
Ryker Brown rounded out the day with a 4th place finish in the Shot Put event with a distance of 16.45m (53' 11.75").
The Black Bears are back in action on Saturday February 7th and Sunday February 8th as they compete in the IC4A Championships.
