Orono, Maine – The University of Maine basketball team picked up their second America East victory of the season as they took down UAlbany, 52-49.

After a slow start offensively, the Black Bears erased an early 10-4 deficit by going on an 8-0 run to take the lead, led by five points and an assist on a
TJ Biel three-pointer by
Ace Flagg.

The Great Danes responded by going on an extended 15-4 run to flip the score back in their favor at 25-16 with five minutes to go in the first half.

UAlbany maintained a nine-point advantage heading into halftime at 33-24.

Biel led the way for the Black Bears with seven points and four rebounds while Flagg had five points, two rebounds and two assists.

Maine opened up the second half allowing just six points in over eight minutes, cutting the deficit in half at 39-34.

The Black Bears continued to use their strong defense to erase the Great Danes lead and take a lead of their own with a little over four minutes remaining at 44-43.

The Black Bears were able to hang out to their narrow lead, coming away with the victory, 52-49.

- Mekhi led the Black Bears with 13 points off the bench.
- Flagg finished with 12 points, eight rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block
