Penty scores in Field Hockey's loss at Dartmouth

HANOVER, N.H. - Eloise Penty tallied a goal for the second-straight game but it would not be enough as the University of Maine field hockey team dropped a 2-1 decision in overtime to Dartmouth on Friday afternoon.

Dartmouth struck first when Ella Bowman converted a penalty stroke just over 12 minutes into the first half.

Penty tied the score at 1-all with her own penalty stroke conversion at the 20 minute mark.

The Black Bears looked to have taken a 2-1 lead at the half on a Julia Pieters goal but it was deemed no goal as the game entered the break knotted at 1-1.

After a scoreless second half, Bowman registered her second goal of the contest eight minutes into overtime to give the Big Green a 2-1 victory.

Maine returns home on Sunday to host New Haven at noon.
