NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Behind three goals from three different Black Bears, the University of Maine women's soccer team earned a 3-2 road win over Merrimack on Thursday afternoon at  Martone-Mejail Field.

Meghan Bernetti put Maine up 1-0 in the 19th minute and then pressure from
Gillian Rovers 63 seconds later forced Merrimack into an own goal for a 2-0 lead. The Warriors responded in kind, scoring twice in the final 10 minutes of the half for a 2-2 game at the break.

Just over five minutes into the second half,
Julie Lossius broke in to make it 3-2 and the Maine defense would hold steady over the final 40 minutes of play for the 3-2 win.
NOTES
- The Black Bears led in shots, 21-8, and shots on goal, 15-6.
- Maine had the 7-4 lead in corner kicks,
- Maine is now 2-1-4 in the all-time series versus Merrimack.
- Grace Wilson finished with four saves for Maine.
- Meghan Bernetti scored her first career goal.
- Julie Lossius recorded her first goal of the season … Lossius had a game-high six shots on goal.
- Bernetti and Rebecca Grisdale played the full 90 minutes for the Black Bears.
