ORONO, Maine -- The America East conference announced on Wednesday, July 16 that a total of 204 winter and spring student-athletes achieved a 3.0 or higher grade-point average (GPA), earning them a spot on the America East Academic Honor Roll. Of those 204, 137 scholar-athletes earned America East Commissioner's Honor Roll status for achieving a 3.5 or higher GPA. The Black Bears collectively ranked second among America East institutions with 86.8-percent of its student-athletes on the Honor Roll and 63.4-percent earning a spot on the Commissioner's Honor Roll.

• This year 82 percent of student-athletes who competed in America East sponsored sports earned Honor Roll recognition for achieving at least a 3.0 GPA during the 2023 fall semester or 2024 spring semesters
• In total, 58 percent of student-athletes and 2,047 in total earned Commissioner's Honor Roll status for registering a GPA of 3.5 or better. It is a 5% increase from the 2023-24 academic year and all nine schools achieved over 50%.
• Overall, 2,927 America East student-athletes were named to the Academic Honor Roll in 2024-25.
• Vermont led the league as 89.4% of its student-athletes earned at least a 3.0 this year, followed by Maine at 86.8% and Binghamton at 85.3% in the top three. Bryant (82.8%), New Hampshire (82.6%) and UMBC (82.4%) rounded out the top six.
• Vermont had the highest percentage of student-athletes named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll at 67.9% and also had the highest total number of honorees with 294.
• Maine had 63.4% of its student-athletes named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll to rank second among schools, while New Hampshire was at 62.2% and Bryant was fourth at 59.5%.
• America East student-athletes have averaged at least a 3.0 GPA in each of the last 20 years.

The Academic Honor Roll reflects grades from the 2025 spring semester as the majority of all competitions in America East sponsored sports took place in the spring.
