AMESBURY, Mass. – Twenty members of the 2024-25 University of Maine men's ice hockey team have been named to this 2024-25 Hockey East All-Academic Team, as announced on Wednesday by the league. Each student-athlete on the All-Academic Team achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or better in each of the two academic periods during which he was actively competing.

Thomas Freel and
Charlie Russell were named to the Hockey East All-Academic All-Star Team for earning the highest GPA at their position for the 2024-25 season. This marks the third consecutive year that Freel has earned a spot on the Academic All-Star Team.
Additionally,
David Breazeale was named a Distinguished Scholar for having qualified for the All-Academic team in each of his four seasons of varsity play.
