ORONO, Maine – The University of Maine men's ice hockey team battled to a 3-3 overtime tie with the #11 UConn Huskies on Saturday night at Alfond Arena.

UConn struck first, potting a short-handed goal less than three minutes into the contest.
Miguel Marques responded with a power-play goal before the end of the period for a 1-1 game at the first intermission.

After Jake Richard put the Huskies back up late in the second period,
Will Gerrior tied the game 90 seconds into the third period. UConn used a power-play strike to go back up five minutes later but once again, the Black Bears equalized – this time on
Grayson Arnott's first of the year with less than seven minutes to play to force overtime.

Neither team found the back of the net in overtime. The Huskies then won the shootout for the extra point in the Hockey East standings.
