ORONO, Maine – The University of Maine men's ice hockey team well the #11 UConn, 2-0, on Friday night at Alfond Arena.

After over 18 minutes of scoreless play to open the game, the Huskies struck first directly off of an offensive-zone faceoff. After neither team found the back of the net in the second period, the Huskies added an insurance goal midway through the final frame.

UConn outshot Maine 10-8 in the first period but the Black Bears went on to have a 24-10 edge in shots on goal over the final 40 minutes. Despite that edge, the Black Bears couldn't find the back of the net.
